The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are actually open and can close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the subsequent requirements:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home which has a combined gross residence income that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined household profits won't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not post any proof of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the click here missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to provide the right Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or intend to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
